When you submit or the lender prepares your written application for a loan, the lender is legally required, under RESPA to give you a copy of the booklet "Settlement Costs ? A HUD Guide". If the lender does not give it to you in person on the day of your loan application, it must deliver it to you or put it in the mail to you no later than three business days after your application is filed.
